Purpose:
The Utah Assistive Technology Foundation is a private, non-profit organization
that works with Zion’s Bank of Utah to provide low-interest loans to purchase
assistive technology and telework devices. The UATF also offers small
grants of $250 or less on a limited basis through non-federal funding to
families who meet federal poverty guidelines. Our goal is to assist
Utahans with disabilities by enhancing their independence, education,
employment, and quality of life through assistive technology.

Purpose: UCAT is a state government agency that
provides assistive technology services to anyone in Utah. They help people with disabilities and their

To provide taped unabridged books and magazines for the blind, individuals with
learning disabilities and the physically disabled. They will provide a tape recorder or player to play books or
magazines on. Need to download form off
the internet site and have your doctor sign it. Will send out material by mail and can return

Resource Centers
Purpose: The
mission of the Disability Resource Centers at Institutions of Higher Learning
is to allow equal access to college programs, services, and activities for
students with disabilities under the American with Disabilities Act and the
Rehabilitation Act of 1973. Services
may include interpreters, taped text books, a note taker, untimed tests, tests
in a separate classroom, and many other accommodations for students with
disabilities. Students need to check
with the Center and present current testing to see if they qualify for
services. To qualify, students must
have a DSM-IV diagnosis (psychologist or psychiatrist) and current testing
within the last 3 years for certain disabilities.
