The ASSERT program at Utah State University is a state-of-the-art preschool program that uses research-based instructional techniques to address the individual needs of children with autism.

·         Serves children with autism ages 3 - 5

·         Operates 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 12:00pm

·         Located in the Center for Persons with Disabilities (CPD) at Utah State University

·         Individualized educational and behavioral programs for each student

·         Specific, measurable outcomes in each need area

ASSERT will also provide private consultative services for children older than preschool age.

Ages: 12 – 17

Purpose:  Copper Hills Youth Center is designed for treatment-resistive adolescents needing increased structured care and 24-hour supervision, including those who have failed outpatient care or who no longer require acute care.  They offer gender-specific programming for boys and girls ages 12 – 17.  They have a specialized program called ARCHES for adolescents diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome.  The goal of the Arches program is to prepare the youth to return home and integrate into their home communities successfully.  Treatment, learning and skills development will be taught in individual and small group (2-4 teens) settings.  Each teen will be placed in a group to match their current level of social understanding and their ability to maintain appropriate behavior.

Purpose:  The Carmen B. Pingree School for Children with Autism provides comprehensive treatment, education and related services for children with autism and their families. We use and develop best practices, validated by research, while treating students and their families with dignity and respect. We partner with families, universities, service agencies, the government and our community to assist those affected by autism. We undertake and support research to better understand autism, its causes and eventual cure. Accepts applications in November for the following school year and decides by January.  New program for children in Pre-School through Kindergarten for children who want to attend their school district pre-school and then attend 3 partial days at Carmen Pingree School for the hours they are not in their district program.  Contact Anna.  Applications taken in Fall and Spring.

Purpose:  They are a nonprofit school striving to help children with Autism Spectrum Disorders.   We are the only private school in Utah County that specializes in children with Autism Spectrum Disorders above a preschool age. They are also the only private school in Utah that uses the DIR Model as its foundation, which encourages a developmentally appropriate, individualized program to your child that is relationship based and includes many other therapies which that child may need to succeed.
